Nga Hau Birthing Centre is seeking experienced NZ registered midwives to work in our community-based birthing centre based in the heart of the Mangere Township.

Our midwifery-led birthing centre is a beautiful facility currently operating with 7 private birthing rooms and delivers a highly regarded postnatal care model working in partnership with LMC’s and women to provide whānau centred care

About the role

We are looking for a Midwife, who is flexible and willing to work rostered shifts (12 hours) on a casual basis.

We offer a supportive and calm working environment and pay DHB pay scale rates.

This is an excellent opportunity for midwives looking for a new challenge or a change of pace as you will be able to provide an excellent level of maternity care and build relationships with women and whānau due to the nature of our service. We have a strong relationship with our LMC Midwives and work together as a wider team to support our community.

We’re looking for someone with the following:

  • Holds a current Midwifery Council of New Zealand practising certificate
  • You will be a high performing Midwife committed to women centred and culturally respectful care. You will have excellent time management, with an ability to prioritise. The ability to work as part of a team, sole charge and contribute to the broader organisational health care objectives and philosophy.

  • Knowledge and skills specific to Primary Maternity Level Service

Birthing Centre (BCL) is committed to identifying, supporting and protecting vulnerable children.  This role is classified as a children’s worker role under the Vulnerable Children’s Act 2014
